Job Specification: Videographer for Awkward FreeSpirit [Subcontractor] 

I’m Brandon (Beejus) Robinson, an adventure and travel photographer from the U.S. I’m looking for a subcontracting videographer to produce a series of adventure themed videos for an upcoming YouTube series.

This role requires you to accompany me on various local and international adventures, have a fun and open sense of self, be comfortable with an international backpacking style of travel, use your skills to tell visual stories, and produce powerful and unique content. 

As a photographer, I’ve developed my own style and approach which you can see throughout my work and I am looking for someone who can understand this and complement it. This role is great for someone who may be early on in their career but already has great videography skills and is willing to learn and apply themselves to an exciting project. 

The following skills are required: 

• Location – Primary living location is Bay Area, CA. I would love to work one-on-one with you as much as possible.

• Videography Skills - Experience filming and editing cinematic sequences with a strong focus on storytelling. 

• Video Editing Skills – Experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and other video editing software

• Some Photography Skills – While you will primarily be taking videos, I will ask that you take the occasional portrait of me.

• Strong Interpersonal skills –  This is necessary to work with people of all ages and backgrounds, including me, and you will need to help people feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. It's important that we can have a personal and professional relationship.

• Effective time management – The role will need to work to tight deadlines to meet the monthly production deadlines and to capture once-in-a-lifetime moments on camera.

• Multitasking and the ability to work independently – There may be a number of briefs involved and the role will require the videographer to take initiative, work independently and juggle different projects or briefs that may arise. 

• Excellent communication skills – The role requires good verbal communication and the ability to engage with a range of people from different backgrounds.  

• Physical fitness – We will be exploring a range of different terrains, some involving treks to different locations, so you will need to have good physical health and the ability to carry your recording equipment. 

• Attention to detail – The role will need to make precise edits in videos, and also keen attention to detail when filming both natural and staged scenes for filming purposes.

• Proactivity – The willingness to initiative and make contributions to the creative brief of ongoing video projects.

• Production – One to two videos, to start
